My Japanese is going down hill
I was just talking with my mom few minutes ago on the phone. My mom noticed that I sounded very uncomfortable speaking Japanese. Lately, I don't really have many opportunities to speak, write or read Japanese. Maybe lack of opportunities are making me feel uncomfortable to speak Japanese. I do occasionally watch Japnese shows on the internet and understand everthing, but speaking is getting to be a problem for me. I also try to teach Japanese to my daughter, but I always end up speaking English to her. I guess English is taking over my brain!!!! Ahhh....
I just have to make more opportunities to speak Japense with my Japanese friends and family. Other wise I think I'm going to lose it all. I really have to keep up with my Japense speaking skill
Wish me luck.

When I was very young, I
When I was very young, I learned and spoke French because we learned it in grade school and I talked to my grandfather, whose family came from France in French, but I lost it because I quit speaking it after he passed away. I speak spanish now as well as English, as I took classes for those too, but I find that I have to keep up on it otherwise I forget too. good luck !
Debbie-Wow, you leaned to
Debbie-Wow, you leaned to spoke French! I attempted to speak French, but for a Japanese girl(me), French accent it very hard to pronounce. I know some spanish as well! My high school counselor forced me to take it. I had many spanish speaking friends back then, so I was like 80% fluent in Spanish, but now I lost it all. All I know is basic Spanish
Oh, and I also understand an old Okinawan Language(Dialect) because I was raised by my grandparents and they only spoke Okinawan Language when I was a baby. I can't speak in Okinawan Language, but I understand if someone speaks to me in this language. Thanks for wishing me luck. I started to read some Japanese news and stuff last night to keep up with my language
Aww, I know what you mean,
Aww, I know what you mean, though. I lost touch with my French-speaking, but it's starting to come back as I teach the kids what I know. I can't really hold a conversation in French with anyone to practice it, though. The kids don't know enough yet and I don't know anyone who speaks French. Maybe we should just start talking to ourselves? LOL
Mommy2Lots-I am so amazed of
Mommy2Lots-I am so amazed of people who used/is able to speak French. As I wrote on reply to Debbie above, it is very hard for me to pronounce French words and I can never learn that langauage. Yes, I guess you really need to be able to speak French with another French speaking person to keep up your French speaking skill. Yeah, we should just start talking to ourselves...that is so funny. Imagine doing that out in the public place, I bet people will think we are crazy
good luck
