Identity theft
Lifelock
Posted June 3rd, 2008 by hipmommyI was watching CNN and saw an interview with Todd Davis who is the head of lifelock. He was talking about the lawsuits that he is facing. If you don't know, lifelock looks like a good company and its goal is to protect your personal information. They provide a service that will stop all that pre-approved junk mail offers on credit card and insurance in your mailbox. They also can place fraud alerts on your behalf to limit a bad guys ability to get credit in your name. As more and more people use the internet, information is all over the place and Lifelock helps to keep it safe. Experian, one of the big credit bureaus, is now suing because it says that Lifelock is costing them money and limiting their ability to sell your information. They say that the fraud alerts cost Experian to validate, activate and then deactivate after 3 months. Experian is in the personal information business and they need to do a better job at protecting my information. I am glad that Lifelock is around to help.
