Use a Label Maker to get organized

My household has been very disorganized for the past few years. Our family can't find anything in our home. Since I've gotten pregnant it has been worse finding stuff in our household. Due to disorganization, sometimes we end up buying items that we already have in the house. Talk about wasting our money! I am getting frustrated and I think it is time for our family to start organize stuff. We need to start labeling boxes, File folders and cabinets. Labeling File folders in my kitchen can help me with my daily task. I have so many cooking recipes and by labeling my recipes by cuisines can make my life little easier during cooking time. I was thinking of purchasing Dymo labeler that can be used for many labeling needs. Besides organizing my File folders, this labeler seem to be very handy for back to school time. In a few weeks, my daughter will be going back to her pre-school and I need to label some of the items that she is going to take with her to school. Dymo labeler also offers labels that can be created and iron on to clothing. This is very convenient. I do not have to use ugly black markers anymore to write my daughter's name on her clothing anymore. If you are preparing for back-to-school organization or any other organization, you must check out DYMO Labelmaker!

Background noise

Oh my, I am trying to concentrate to do some work but it is not going anywhere..... My daughter has been playing her piano right next to my desk. I really can't say anything her because she is practicing for her next piano lesson with her teacher. I love the fact that she loves playing piano and leaning well but I need a quiet place. Maybe I need to purchase a pair of ear plugs to avoid this background noise. I need help

Play Bingo!

I've always enjoyed playing bingo at school and also with my family. My High School Spanish teacher used bingo game as part of her teaching tool. She used to make students play bingo during a class and it really made it so much fun so learn. I've also used to play bingo as a child with my brother and my mom after dinner. I have so many nice memories of playing bingo. My family still play bingo when we all get together during holidays.

Now I am a parent and would like to teach my daughter how to play bingo and start making some good memories with her by spending time with her. I was looking via website and found out that the company called Screenlife has come up with a game called Disney Bingo DVD game! My daughter is a biggest fan of Disney so I think Disney Bingo DVD will be perfect for our family to play.

This bigo game is not just a traditional bingo game, it is interactive and also teaches kids numbers, colors, and matching skills with their favorite Disney characters and movie clips. I think that this is a great way to teach my daughter a concept of playing bingo and build her academic skills at the same time. The game allows 2 or more players to play at the same time and ages 4 - adult can enjoy playing this awesome bingo game! The game itself comes with 1 DVD, 6 double-sided bingo cards, 150 bingo chips and set of game rules. Just watch the promotional video I embedded below. It looks so much fun to play this game. The price of this DVD game is very reasonable. I found that Amazon.com sells it for $19.99 but it is now on sale for $15.99. At amazon.com, this game has received 4.5 stars of customer reviews. I truly recommend other parents to look into this game and make a purchase from amazon.com today! This might be a great gift idea for Christmas 2008!

Group piano lesson

My daughter is going to have a group piano lesson tomorrow afternoon at her teacher's house. I am kind of getting nervous. Well, she will be performing in front of kids around her age for the first time. She has been practicing her song very hard for all this week but I don't know. I hope she does not get too nervous. I just want her to enjoy what she loves to do. She is excited the fact that she gets to meet other piano students and looking forward to her group lesson tomorrow.

I'm having a girl!

I just went to my 20 week ultrasound and found out that I am having a little girl. I was a bit disappointed because I wanted a boy but I'm now okay with a girl. My daughter was thrilled to hear that she is going to have a baby sister. She was actually praying to have a baby sister every night she went to bed. Well, my daughter's prayer definitely worked for her. My husband was very happy to hear that it is a girl as well. I am half way through this pregnancy and can't wait to meet my baby girl!

3 hours of free time

My daughter went to her neighbor friend's house this afternoon for 3 hours. It was so nice to get a break. I was feeling a little sick this afternoon so I just relaxed and did not do anything for that 3 hours. My daughter came home happy that she was able to play with her friend. It is almost dinner time now and I have to think about dinner. Well, since I am not feeling good, I might ask my husband to go get take out dinner. Wish me luck to get rid of this morning sickness soon! Thanks!

New piano

As some of you might know from my past post, my daughter has been taking piano lessons. She has been practicing piano with an electronic keyboard that we borrowed from our neighbor. Well, she is getting to a point that she needs a better traditional piano or a new 88 key casio electronic keyboard. My husband and I just can't decided which one to purchase. No matter which one we choose to buy, it will be an expensive purchase. We have been doing some research and asking around other people to get some advice. We are hoping that we can make up our mind by September. Wish us luck!

Piano Lesson

My daughter has been taking some piano lessons. It has been almost 2 months since she started piano and she is making a great progress. I was worried about her age when we started but she is learning so quick. Her piano teacher thinks that my daughter might be able to play Mary had a little lamb in another month or two. I can't believe it but lets see how it goes. My husband and I decided that have our daughter continue with piano lessons through fall. My daughter is excited the fact that she can keep going to see her piano teacher. I have to get better soon and start making some extra money so that I can pay for her future piano lessons. Wish me luck.

Hiring a babysitter

With all my work and household chores, I am seriously thinking of hiring a babysitter to take care of my daughter. My husband thinks I am crazy but I really need help. It is hard for me to take care of my freelance business, household chores and taking care of my daughter at the same time everyday. I am thinking of hiring a babysitter for maybe one day a week. My neighbor's daughter (12 years old) is already interested in watching my daughter but I do not know how much to pay. If I hire her, I will be paying her based on hours. Can anyone tell me how much I should pay for the babysitting service? I would like to hear about other peoples opinions and experiences. Thank you!

Playdate

My daughter's good friend came to our house early this afternoon to play with my daughter. I am so happy that they play very nice with each other. They have been playing in my daughter's room for the past 3 hours already. While they played together, I got many things done today. I finally had a chance to clean my master bedroom and my computer desk. Having a playdate saves me time and energy! I need to do this more often so that I can get more and more stuff done for myself

Snack time!

I got into cleaning out my closet and working on my freelance work and totally forgot about my daughter's snack time. She is currently begging me to go downstairs and give her some snacks. I have been up since 6:00a.m. this morning so this is actually a perfect timing for me to take a break as well. I need to think about what to give my daughter but I am sure that I can figure that out once I go down to my kitchen. Today will be a pretty busy day for me so I better hurry up and give her something so I can get back to my work

Easy morning!

I set up a play date for my daughter this morning with our next door neighbor. My daughter's friend came over at 10:00a.m. and they have been playing in my daughter's room. I don't hear any crying or wining. I hear a lot of laughing and giggling. It seems like this was a great idea to let the two girls play together. I'm going have to talk to my neighbor and plan to have more play dates this summer. I am actually being very productive with my work today

New bicycle

My husband and I got a brand new bicycle w/training wheels for our daughter for her birthday. So far, my daughter constantly wants me to walk along her side while she rides her bike..... She fell off of her friend's bicycle last months, so she might be uncomfortalbe riding her bike all by herself becasue of that experience. Anyway, I'm gonna keep going outside with her and hopefully she can ride her bike without me walking along her side soon.......

Not working hard....

Ever since my in-laws came to our house last Saturday, I have not put in any work into my freelance work. It is kind of nice to getaway from my work every once in a while. Plus, this past Sunday was my daughter's birthday, so I got to spend a nice quality time with my daughter. I can't believe that she is already 4 years old now. She is growing so fast. It was so nice for my in-laws to visit us for her birthday weekend. My daughter was so happy to spend her special day with her grand parents, aunt and her baby cousin

Busy bee

Yes, right now I am a busy bee. Working, cleaning, getting ready for my daughter's birthday. Gosh, I only have one more day. Sunday is her birthday, so I have to get everything ready. It is going to be a family only small birthday party, but I still want to make sure that I got everything ready. We got her birthday gift, we ordered her cake with the characters that she wanted and so on.... I am going to wake up extra early in the morning, so that I can get all the bedrooms ready for my in-laws. And I have to do some grocery shopping as well. My daughter wants to eat some crab legs on her birthday!!!!  I hope that they have some deals on crab legs at our local grocery store......

I'm stressed out.....

My daughter's birthday is coming up soon, this Sunday to be exact. I'm getting stressed out. I am not going to do a big birthday party for her this year, but my husband's family is flying out to see us for her birthday. My house is not clean and this is something that I need to work on by this Friday. Today is Monday, I am starting out with tackling laundry and cleaning up my daughter's room. I am taking my daughter out to the library this afternoon, so hope that I can get both of these things done by lunch time. I wish I can take time out from my freelance work this week, but I need money to pay my mom's mortgage, so I have to keep working hard Wish me luck!

Breakfast time!

Today is saturday, but if you read on my past few post, you notice that I've been up early and working. I got up at 6:00a.m this morning and started to work on my freelance work. It is kind of nice to work while everybody is still in bed. Actually it is 8:30a.m. now and my daughter is still sleeping. Now that I am done with some of my work, it is time for me to go down and cook some breakfast. I am sure that my daughter will be up soon saying "mommy I'm hungry". I have about 1 hour left before I leave the house to go to my physical therapy session, so I better hurry up and get that breakfast ready for my family.

Stark Museum of Art

Have you heard of the Stark Museum of Art? Well it is an art museum located in Orange, Texas. I personally have not visited this museum, but since I love art I would like to visit this museum in the near future. For those of you who are planning to visit Texas for your vacation this summer, plan to visit this museum that offers the art of the American West. This would be a great opportunities for kids to learn and explore the art of the American West. The museum actually offers some great interactive activities for children so that children can develop an appreciation and better understanding of the arts.

There are many different types of the art of the American West. At the Stark Museum of Art, they offer collections such as Western Art, American Indian Art, Decorative Arts, and Rare Books and Manuscripts. There are many artists' great works works can be viewed at this museum. They have numerous exhibitions to focus on certain artist(s) to educate people on that particular art. Currently, they are offering a special exhibition on Celebrate Shangri La from March 15, 2008 through June 28, 2008. This exhibition will be focused on artistic representations of flora and fauna found in Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange, Texas. The works of artists such as John James Audubon and Dorothy Doughty vividly portray plants, birds and animals will be displayed at the museum.

The museum is also involved with The Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation that is a non-profit foundation that offers to help improve the quality of life in southeast Texas. They promote and assist education, the arts, and health and human services.  I love the fact that museum dedicates their services to reach out to the public.

One more week!

Oh my, my daughter only has one more week of her pre-school. I can't believe the fact that it is almost over. I am kind of in a panic of what to do during the summer. I'm thinking of some activities through park district, but I know that it will not be enough for her. In order for me to get some work done, I might have to put her in a day care for like 1-2days a week. My husband is totally against this idea, since both of us work from home, but I just can't concentrate on my work..... Let's see how it goes and maybe we can come up with some different solutions.
